Vaccancy Announcement: National Consultancy Services: To conduct community-based baseline survey on citizen knowledge, Attitude and Practices towards GBV prevention and response.

Hope Restoration South Sudan is engaged in a UNFPA-funded project to Provide a lifesaving GBV Prevention and Response Services and transforming harmful social norms to promote gender equality and positive masculinity in Bentiu, Leer, Mayom, Mayendit, Fangak and Rumbek North. The project’s focus is ensuring that the selected deprived communities are provided with GBV prevention and response services including transformation of harmful cultural norms with an aim of to achieve gender equality.

South Sudanese civilians have borne the brunt of the country’s decades-spanning violent conflict. Among others, the prevalence of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) has continued to be exacerbated by the conflict and has even been used as a weapon of war. Prevention and response including provision of services by the duty bearers do not operate in as robust a manner as possible, burdened further by tenacious patriarchal societal structures. Therefore, the project targets women and adolescent girls, have increased access to information and services for maternal health, family planning, gender-based violence and HIV prevention in emergency and fragile contexts.

Hope Restoration South Sudan, in partnership with UNFPA South Sudan, is implementing Provision of lifesaving GBV Prevention and Response Services Bentiu, Leer, Rumbek North, Old Fangak, Mayom, Mayendit and Bentiu, targeting Crisis-affected populations, particularly women and adolescent girls, have increased access to information and services for maternal health, family planning, gender-based violence and HIV prevention in emergency and fragile contexts.

KAP assessment is a key activity to be led by Hope Restoration South Sudan (HRSS), NGO implementing partner; HRSS is engaging Men and Women in selected counties. This intervention aims to increase the capacity of men and women to prevent and respond to Gender Based Violence in communities, and increase access to life skills education, and evidence data for future recommendation and reference.

Accordingly, HRSS is looking for a consultant, available for travel to Bentiu, Leer, Mayom, Mayendit, Fangak and Rumbek North to conduct a baseline survey on citizen’s Knowledge, Attitude and Practices on GBV prevention and response.
