In South Sudan, LM International has a presence in; Yambio, Nzara, and Ezo- Western Equatoria State, Akuem- Aweil Northern Bahr El Ghazal State, Bor, and Pibor in Jonglei State and Ajoung Thok in Unity State, Implementing Projects in the WASH Sector, integrated with Protection/ GBV mitigation, Inclusive Education, and Food Security and Livelihoods. In 2019, Läkarmissionen merged with International Aid Services (IAS), an operational organization founded as a humanitarian response to the needs of people displaced by the civil war in Sudan in 1989. Location: LM International South Sudan Country Office in Juba with frequent travels to the field offices.

Report to: The Programme Manager.

General job description:

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Inclusive Education Officer will be responsible for the implementation of inclusive education activities pertaining to, “Children with special educational needs (CSEN) enjoy recognition and inclusion in social structures and have access to equal educational opportunities in the least restrictive and conducive environment in the target area”

The officer will ensure appropriate physical rehabilitation of target children with special educational needs, building resilience and education in emergencies for the most vulnerable populations. He/she shall ensure proper coordination with relevant stakeholders these include; Education cluster, authorities (both local and government), humanitarian actors, PTA’s (Parents Teachers Association), and beneficiaries/associations advocating for Inclusive Education at both local and national levels.
