The Peacebuilding Opportunities Fund (POF) is a UK government programme to pursue conflict reduction and peacebuilding objectives in a flexible, strategic and sustained manner, by identifying and supporting efforts by South Sudanese institutions and groups that show signs of successfully managing and reducing conflict, and of promoting civic attitudes and practices.
It has a strategic focus in four areas: around Bentiu, Bor, Rumbek and Torit. The POF is engaging a short-term consultancy in each of the areas to conduct further scoping and opportunity identification, in consultation and collaboration with existing local peacebuilding actors and initiatives. This will help lay the foundation for the next phase of the programme.
