About WASH Course
This course introduces the students to the core principles of planning, designing and implementing activities to improve sustainable and equitable access to domestic water supply and sanitation facilities and improve hygiene behaviours.

Today in the 21st century, statistics show that after every 90 seconds, a child dies due to water related diseases (UNICEF-IPM); one in ten people are unable to access safe water and one in three people lack access to a toilet. It is not fully their fault but they find themselves entangled in cycles of poverty, conflicts and natural calamities. I believe that we have a divine duty to reduce water related diseases that continue to claim millions of people worldwide especially in sub-Saharan Africa.

This course will give you a chance to join a team of equal minded professionals to curtail domestic water contamination, provide safe water and reduce water related infections to the vulnerable and hard-to-reach areas that have been afflicted by conflict, droughts and flooding-calamities afflicting much pain to the young, women, elderly and immune-compromised populations. Preventing human contact to disease agents, empowering people on determinants of health, saving lives and timely interventions greatly reduces prevalence of preventable diseases in neglected, conflict and post-conflict areas.

This course is targeting anybody in the water and sanitation area including hygiene promoters, WASH project managers, community leaders, NGO staff and employee, government civil servants, students in colleges or universities, unemployed people, proposal writers, programme managers, management and implementation staff, water management committees, community volunteers, health promoters, health experts etc.
