Background of the Organizations
Base Net (NNGO) in partnership with VWB/VSF (Veterinary Without Boarder / Veterinaire San Frontier) - Canada (INGO) is implementing farming of selected types of edible insect mainly by means of research under Fund for Innovation and Transformation (FIT) from Global Affairs Canada.

Base Net is a national Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) officially registered as a non-profit entity with the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC), registration number 1287 on 29th January 2018. It is currently operating in Central Equatoria State (Juba County) and in EES (Magwi, Torit and Lafon Counties). Our vision is “resilient communities having sufficient access to and control over basic services with dignity for a healthy and active living”. Our mission is to “Work with others to find lasting solutions to vulnerability and poverty among the affected communities or population”. Our motto “together we empower” is a vital ingredient towards realizing impact to our clients and affected people whom we bear accountability to. Our core values include commitment and persistence; calculated risk-taking and result orientation; impartiality and independence; accountability and learning; teamwork and empowerment; respect and partnership; creativity and making a difference; trustworthiness and reliability.

Our core mandates include Food Security and Livelihoods, Nutrition, Health and Environment Management. We also do WASH, Education and Shelters/NFIs. We incorporate cross-cutting issues such as Covid-19, gender, protection, peacebuilding/conflict management, environment and climate change issues into stand-alone projects. We work with others to empower and transform lives and generate testimonies in both humanitarian and development settings.
