Consortium of Rural Women for Agribusiness Development Organization (CORWADO) is a women-led national development and humanitarian organization implementing integrated, multi-sectoral programmes across several states in South Sudan. CORWADO strengthens climate-resilient and inclusive food systems, sustainable livelihoods, and local economies through Market Systems Development (MSD), agribusiness and value-chain strengthening, financial inclusion, and private-sector engagement. Our programming integrates WASH, protection, gender equality and women’s economic empowerment, peacebuilding, disaster risk reduction, and community resilience through a locally led and conflict-sensitive Humanitarian-Development-Peace (HDP) Nexus approach. Our work is guided by the 2026-2030 Country Programme Strategy, structured around eleven strategic pillars to advance resilient livelihoods, inclusive markets, strong local institutions, and peaceful communities.

Position Overview:

CORWADO is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Executive Director (ED) to provide strategic leadership, institutional oversight, and high-level external representation for its South Sudan programmes. Based in Juba and reporting to the Chief Operating and Programmes Officer (COPO), Humanitarian and Development Directorate, the Executive Director will lead the organization’s strategic direction, programme growth, partnerships, advocacy, governance systems, and institutional strengthening agenda.

The ED will ensure effective implementation of CORWADO’s Strategic Plan (2026-2030), Sustainable institutional growth and diversified funding, High standards of programme quality and compliance, Strong financial stewardship and operational excellence, Robust governance, risk management, and safeguarding systems

As the most senior representative of CORWADO in South Sudan, the Executive Director will engage at high level with government institutions, UN agencies, donors, civil society actors, private-sector partners, and regional networks.

The position requires regular travel across South Sudan, including field and operational locations, and occasional international travel as required.

Key Responsibilities:

The Executive Director will:

a) Provide overall strategic leadership and institutional direction.

b) Lead resource mobilization and donor engagement efforts.

c) Oversee delivery of high-quality, results-driven programmes.

d) Ensure financial integrity and compliance with donor and statutory requirements.

e) Strengthen governance, risk management, and security oversight.

f) Embed safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusion across systems and programmes.

g) Represent CORWADO in national, regional, and international forums.

h) Strengthen partnerships and policy engagement.

i) Foster a high-performing, ethical, and values-driven organizational culture.
