Consortium of Rural Women for Agribusiness Development Organization (CORWADO) is a women-led national non-governmental organization established in 2022 and legally registered with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) of the Republic of South Sudan under Registration No. 5164. CORWADO is committed to empowering rural communities, particularly women, youth, smallholder farmers and vulnerable populations, through inclusive economic development, sustainable food systems and livelihoods, agribusiness and market systems development, financial inclusion, climate resilience and locally led humanitarian and development initiatives.

With programme experience across Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Western Equatoria and Western Bahr el Ghazal States, CORWADO has implemented multi-donor humanitarian and development programmes reaching more than 25,000 people, particularly women, youth, smallholder farmers and vulnerable communities. Its core thematic areas include food security and sustainable livelihoods; agribusiness and agricultural value-chain development; Market Systems Development (MSD) and private sector engagement; financial inclusion and cooperative strengthening; gender equality and women’s economic empowerment; youth entrepreneurship, education and skills development; climate-smart agriculture and environmental sustainability; disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); peacebuilding, social cohesion and protection mainstreaming; humanitarian response and early recovery; and local governance and institutional capacity strengthening.

Guided by its 2025–2030 Strategic Direction and Programme Priorities, CORWADO advances integrated, inclusive, market-driven and community-led development approaches that strengthen rural food systems, promote sustainable livelihoods, expand access to financial services and markets, stimulate entrepreneurship and employment, and enhance climate resilience.

Through strategic partnerships with government institutions, United Nations agencies, international development partners, private sector actors, financial institutions and civil society organizations, CORWADO leverages local expertise, strong community relationships and accountable institutional management to deliver innovative, inclusive and sustainable programmes.
