World Vision is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of X- Ray and Ultrasound Technician, (Man or Woman) for its Health Pooled Fund Project, based in Kuajok Hospital, Warrap State, South Sudan
Purpose of the Position:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
World Vision South Sudan Zonal Office in Gogrial State is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate to fill the position of X-ray/Ultrasound technician for it Program in Kuajok Hospital – HPF project. World Vision is providing support to Kuajok Hospital in Maternity, Paediatric, Internal Medicine and Surgical departments as well as the supporting specialists ‘clinics.
The X-Ray/Ultrasound Technician will be in charge of operating the X-Ray Machine and the Ultrasound and work in close collaboration with the Clinicians working at Kuajok Hospital in order to provide support in diagnostic findings.
Key Responsibilities
• Performs diagnostic procedures on patients to meet the established practice parameters and standards of care, including:
Proper positioning/centering of part/patient
Proper technical factor selection
Proper image/patient identification
Proper use of image receptors
Proper, professional patient care and assessment
Proper radiation protection provided for patient/staff/general public
Proper documentation maintained
• Keep an updated inventory of equipment / processing chemicals and drugs and prepare weekly orders.
• Maintain equipment and develop a schedule for regular maintenance - report needs for repair.
• Ensure correct storage of chemicals and equipment
• Perform plain X-rays as ordered; ensuring patient is not exposed to unnecessary radiation.
• Perform fluoroscopy’s (barium meals Urography examinations)
• Perform Ultrasound investigations
• Works as a member of the health care team including physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in diagnostic testing procedures
• Adheres to medical and surgical asepsis and standard precautions as required per procedure
• Transports patients as required, processes images and maintains proper inventory of supplies.
• Ensure efficient and safe usage of medical equipment at the Hospital
• Register all patients.
• Any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Diploma or Certificate in Diagnostic Radiography from a recognised institution in South Sudan, Sudan or any other recognised similar institution in the region.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a radiography department.
• Ability to take responsibility and work independently.
• Ability to teach and manage staff assigned to the department.
N.B: This position is open to South Sudanese Nationals Only.
N.B: The incumbent of this position will not be a Relocatable Staff.
N.B: The position is under HPF Project in Kuajok Hospital in collaboration with World Vision South Sudan
