Livelihoods and Resilience Project Manager–Juba, Central Equatoria State, South Sudan

Are you an experienced and qualified Livelihoods and Resilience Project Manager? Tearfund South Sudan has an exciting opportunity for a professional and qualified Livelihoods and Resilience Project manager .

The Food Security and Livelihoods Manager is responsible for designing and/or overseeing the implementation, managing and ensuring delivery of all food security and livelihoods programs, including line managing a team of project staff and developing further programming. The role is responsible for coordinating the FSL projects and providing technical support in all related projects implemented in the country programme. As such, he/she coordinates and manages the planning and implementation (if stand-alone projects exist) and monitoring of FSL project activities, manages the sector staff team and supports Program Managers/Area Coordinators in the production of internal and external narrative and financial reports.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • University Degree in a related course (e.g. Development studies, Bsc. Agric, Economics, etc).
  • Proven substantial experience in project management in displacement related contexts
  • Previous direct experience of designing and managing implementation of livelihoods/economic recovery projects
  • Detailed understanding of humanitarian principles and practices
  • Proven ability to manage projects with experience in financial management, understanding of logistics and procurement procedures and human resource management
  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • Experience in facilitating trainings on business and Agriculture
  • Qualification in Humanitarian action and/or Project Cycle Management and/or Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Experience in management of livelihoods teams
  • Experience in and formal training on VSLAs
  • Experience in Conservation Agriculture
  • Experience in designing and implementing Agro based Livelihoods and market assessments including labour market assessments
  • Experience of working with entrepreneurs or small scale businesses
  • Knowledge and experience in using of designing and implementing cash and Voucher assistance programmes modalities
  • Experience in disaster risk management
  • Experience in livelihoods related research
  • Experience of working with youth and Women groups.
  • Working to SPHERE standards, People In Aid and Red Cross Codes of Conduct
  • Proposal development experience.

  • Significant understanding of complex relationships between NGOs, governments, and UN agencies.
  • Capacity building and mentoring skills
  • Ability to lead, participate and facilitate in collective staff prayer and bible studies.
