Project Manager–Juba, Central Equatoria State, South Sudan

Are you an experienced and qualified Project Manager? Tearfund South Sudan has an exciting opportunity for a professional and qualified Project Manager .

The job holder will primarily contribute to the successful implementation of Health sector transformation project (HSTP) - in Bor South, Duk and Twic East Counties, Lot 9 funded by MDTF/World Bank through UNICEF and led by the National Ministry of Health (MoH), Republic of South Sudan.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • in Public Health, Nutrition
  • Knowledgeable on Health systems strengthening - all WHO pillars in county health department capacity development support.
  • Master in related field will be an added advantage
  • Experience working in South Sudan for a minimum of 5-6 years implementing health related projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of DHIS2, IDSR, EWARS; and other reporting tools.
  • Excellent experience in support supervision, staff coaching and mentoring, project documentation.
  • Excellent knowledge on rules and regulations governing implementation of health projects.
  • Experience in building successful relationships with government counterparts, UN agencies, international and national NGOs; and CSOs.
  • Experience working with NGOs.
  • Experience in programme management
  • Experience working in humanitarian response.
  • Experience in M&E and conducting assessments.

Skills/Abilities required:

  • Good oral and written reporting skills in English.
  • Excellent communication, report writing skills and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage staff in a consultative and supportive manner
  • Knowledge in Ms-word and Excel
  • Ability to take command of a situation and make decisions
  • Ability to speak Juba Arabic,
  • Able to drive a vehicle (with driving/riding permit).
  • Be trustworthy and responsible
  • An excellent negotiator with experience liaising with County Health Departments, State Ministry of Health, donors and Tearfund.
  • Willing to work under minimum supervision
  • Committed Christian

  • Cross cultural understanding / sensitivity.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and team skills and ability to be flexible in demanding situations
  • Willingness to travel and operate in basic conditions.
