III. Description of Duties
As a senior Corporate/Commercial lawyer, you’ll provide the following specific tasks and any other task as may be assigned from time to time;
i) Provides accurate, timely, practical and commercially focused legal advice to clients
ii) Works under little to no supervision and conducts a general caseload, referring upwards as required
iii) Drafts and reviews legal analysis, submissions to the court and external regulators and other legal documentation.
iv) Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
v) Prepare the appropriate legal document for trial or court proceedings.
vi) Examine the legal issues related to new products and services
vii) Represent the Chamber in client services
IV. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
To be considered for this position the applicant should have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
a) A sound understanding of Commercial and Corporate Law;
b) An understanding of one or more of other key areas of law relevant to the practice (commercial, procurement, or employment law);
c) Effective use of analytical and innovative thinking and application, specifically (but not exclusively) in relation to the interpretation of law;
d) Ability to understand and analyze complex issues and information;
e) Able to respond to competing priorities from a wide range of contacts/organizations
f) Ability to identify key issues within complex problems/cases, and ensure effective use of time and resources;
g) Able to manage a varied and complex caseload
h) A Masters degree in International Commercial Law/ Corporate Law
i) OR A Bachelor degree (LLB) with 5 years working experience presiding over commercial issues in a reputable law firm.
