Malaria Consortium began its activities in South Sudan in 2005, its main office is in Juba and sub offices in Aweil, Northern Bahr El Ghazel. Its programme areas include the Boma Health Initiative, Nutrition for children under five years, Health systems management, and LLIN mass distribution. Malaria Consortium in South Sudan work with the Ministry of Health ((MOH) at the National and State level on policy and guideline development.
The current programs in South Sudan are the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) funded by GiveWelll and the Health Sector Transformation Project (HSTP) funded by the Government of South Sudan and other donors through UNICEF.
Malaria Consortium seeks to recruit for a Research and Programme Coordinator based in Aweil.
Qualifications and experience:
Essential
MSc in Public Health, Global Health, Sociology, Anthropology, Epidemiology, Population Studies or a related social science discipline, or another post-graduate qualification with a substantial qualitative research component
Substantial experience in social science research design, management, and implementation
Demonstrable experience designing topic guides and carrying out qualitative interviews and/or focus group discussions.
Demonstrable experience in transcribing and analyzing qualitative data.
Experience of building positive working relationships between NGOs and MoH
- Experience working in public health in developing countries within government, an international organisation or research institution.
Experience in developing training materials, carrying out and supervising training.
- Experienced in applying qualitative methods of data collection and analysis.
- Familiar with South Sudan’s routine HMIS
