Psychological First Aid - 19&20th March

Delivered by Thrive Worldwide

Psychological First Aid is an evidence-informed support framework for assisting staff, colleagues and team members in the aftermath of a crisis, disaster, critical incident or terrorism event.

PFA is a way to provide emotional support to people of any age or background in order to reduce the initial distress caused by the critical event and to foster short and long-term adaptive functioning and coping.

The PFA training will offer you the opportunity to learn and develop practical and effective strategies in supporting staff in the aftermath of overwhelming events. It will help you to identify those at risk and those in need of further support. Alongside technical knowledge, the course also provides a grounding in the basic neuroscience of stress and its impact on individuals.
