Foundation is a global non-governmental organization with headquarters in Italy Its mission is to support human development in developing countries according to the social teaching of the Catholic Church: recognizing the uniqueness of each person, who as such cannot be reduced to a number within an anonymous category such as “the poor, the sick, the disabled”. Furthermore, every person and every community represent a resource, regardless of their vulnerability. This is why AVSI works to help people in becoming aware of their own value and dignity. AVSI is operating in South Sudan since 2005, implementing medium to long-term sustainable health, education, water & sanitation, food security and emergency relief programmes.

The organisation is now seeking to recruit suitable qualified South Sudanese national for the position of
Project Coordinator.

Duty Station: Juba, Jubek State

Role description:

The Project
Coordinator will be responsible for the vision, strategy, design, implementation and management of Immezzo alla Guerra nutriamo l’umano project, funded by the Italian private funds, working in collaboration with Diocese of Juba, St. Kizito P/S and S.Kisito PHCC and AVSI senior management team in Juba.

Duties:
·

  • To plan and coordinate all the project activities according to the donor rules and AVSI procedures
  • To monitor and evaluate the project’s activities including production of the required technical and financial reports
  • Ensure use of standardized protocols, policies and guidelines, as prescribed by South Sudan
  • Ministry of Health.
  • Organize, coordinate and facilitate nutrition capacity building activities according to the project
  • objectives.
  • To work in close relation and dialogue with the local partners, to improve their skill, management and performances
  • To relate with the local authorities and all the actors involved in the project
  • To relate, together with the Nutrition and Education Focal Point and the CR, with the donor·
  • Any other duty assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements

Education

Must have a secondary education certificate
Bachelor degree or diploma in nutrition science or related field of study is an advantage

Knowledge and experience

At least 3 years of professional experience
Understanding
of global nutrition and child health policy and context.
Strong
communication skills at a level appropriate for high level external representation
and ability to tailor communications to different audiences
Experience of
working with nutrition and education cluster coordination mechanisms in country
and practical understanding of the cluster approach at country, regional and
global level
Experience in
team leadership and management with highly developed writing skills
Established
reputation in the field of nutrition and education programming.
Ability to train
and build capacity of field-level staff.
Strong written
and verbal communication skills.
Working
experience with an NGO or private sector will be an added advantage.
Experience to
implement community involvement in implementing of programs is an advantage
Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills
Fluency in
written and spoken English, Juba Arabic
