POSITION TITLE: Nutrition Coordinator

LOCATION: Juba – South Sudan

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ACROSS is looking for a suitablyqualified candidate for the position of Nutrition Coordinator to be based in Juba overseeing the UNICEF funded Nutrition Program in Gorom and Lasu Refugee Camps in the former Central Equatoria State. The Nutrition Coordinator has the overall responsibility of providing leadership which produces effective delivery and development of programmes in his/her area of operations. He/she is responsible for the efficient management of all nutrition intervention resources (grants, awards, staff and assets) and leads the representation of Across with County level authorities, INGOs and NGOs, and visitors. The candidate shall perform the following duties as listed
below;

· Representing Across in nutrition coordination meetings in the program area/cluster.

· Overseeing all the Across nutrition activities both in Host community and refugee camp.

· Ensuring that reports are compiled and shared with partners and donors on weekly, monthly and quarterly as expected.

· Supervise nutrition program staff.

· Support capacity building of program staff on IYCF, IMSAM, and CMAM.

· Proactively remain aware and updated on all health/nutrition issues pertinent to South Sudan nutrition programs through interacting with other nutrition implementing partners at the national coordination meetings

· Coordinating BSFP, TSFP and OTP activities in the program area camps and host community.

· Liaise with other partners in facilitating nutrition survey and intermediary assessment as need arise.

· Supporting the ministry through evangelizing to beneficiaries and staff in the program during the morning devotion.

· Request all the nutrition food commodities and anthropometric tools from the donors based on the number of beneficiaries.

· Reviewing the nutrition proposals and budget.

· Any other task assigned by the Project coordinator/Health Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL

Applications shall not be considered from candidates who do not possess ALL the Essential Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in health and nutrition or other social sciences and extensive practical
management experience preferably in emergency nutrition and humanitarian response programmes;

· Experience of managing the programme cycle, including assessments, project design, proposal and report writing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;

· Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets

· Experience of managing large and diverse teams in resource-poor, insecure settings.

· Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities;

· Strong analytical, monitoring and evaluation, and report-writing abilities;
Have technical background and knowledge in CMAM and demonstrated work experience in implementing CMAM components and hygiene promotion/Nutrition education programs; 1 to 2 years’ experience in Management of emergency nutrition; NGO & refugee camp setting experience preferred. Knowledge and experience in Nutrition intervention, and hygiene promotion
