IPCS is an organization established in 1999 during civil war in Sudan., the institution was formed to strengthen the institutional and personnel capacities of the local civil society organization, local government administrators, youth group, women groups and local chiefs structures in good governance at that time and beyond, it was in addition to ensure access to information through basic learning education program with an aim of creating an enabling environment for expression of rights and freedom of citizens through sensitization and awareness creation on the constitutional and Democratic rights of the Citizens, protection in terms of human right and gender dynamics, environmental protection, livelihood, agriculture and food security intervention, Conflict and peacebuilding intervention, Maternal health care service and psychosocial support and trauma healing, rule of law and access to justice, health related services like HIV/AIDS, disaster situations and as an organization formed during war, IPCS ensured sourcing nutritional support for people with special needs like pregnant and lactating mothers
