GLRA is a non-profit International NGO operating in different parts of the world. It has Head Quarter based in German that governs its four Regional Offices: Latin America, South East Asia, West Africa and East Africa offices. GLRA East Africa Regional Office based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia represents Yemen, Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia project and/or program offices. GLRA South Sudan is, established in 2007, and has its country office in Juba.

Position : Manager

Duty Station: Juba with frequent travel to project implementer sites within South Sudan

Employment type: Fixed term for one year with possibility of extension

Purpose of the Job:

The main purpose of the job is to manage the implementation of GLRA Project in South Sudan, which mainly focuses on the prevention and control of Leprosy, TB & NTDs, Humanitarian aid and inclusion of marginalized population groups (IDP, PWD, Prisoners, etc.). She/he will report to Regional Representative by working in collaboration with GLRA South Sudan Staffs and different partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for planning, budgeting, monitoring and ensuring the highest quality (medical, social, administrative) concerns of DAHW projects

Research and identify suitable sources of funding (international, national, regional and local) for DAHW’s mission in South Sudan.

Develop highest quality proposal for funding

Manages that DAHW´s mission is accomplished effectively in each program and project site

Effective and proper implementation of funding and transparent and timely accounting in accordance to donors’ requirements

Pro-actively seek and be responsible for co-funding opportunities, new alliances, strategies, networking and partnerships in close co-operation with Regional Representative, Co-funding Expert and Desk Officer

Head of DAHW offices with all legal responsibilities for all staffs, financial transactions, administrative and logistic aspects within the country

Represents DAHW in the country according to DAHW policies and guidelines

Ensures functional and positive networks among program office, Regional office, partners, stakeholders, government institutions and ministries

Risk Management for securing DAHW tangible and intangible assets

Liaise with Regional Representative, Desk Officer and Co-Funding Officer

Intensively participates in monitoring and evaluation of the program and/or projects

Actively participates in PR activities

Coordinate support to Fundraising

Required Qualification & Experience:

  • Masters degree in Social science, Public health or other related disciplines
  • Training in TB, Leprosy, humanitarian and/or NTDs is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experiences among which at least 2 years is in managing complex organization
  • Previous work experience in National and/or International Non-governmental organizations is advantageous
  • Excellent working knowledge of English and good working knowledge of the local languages and cultures of the Country
  • Demonstrable skills in basic computer (Microsoft words, excel, power point, etc.)
  • Good experience in networking and team work
  • Carry out any other duties and/or responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor
