Established in 2003, Malaria Consortium is one of the world’s leading non-profit organisations specialising in the comprehensive prevention, control, and treatment of malaria and other communicable diseases among vulnerable and under privileged populations. Malaria Consortium work on malaria is being increasingly integrated with other similar public health interventions for greater impact and therefore expanding our remit to include maternal, new-born and child health and neglected tropical disease interventions.
We work in Africa and Asia with communities, governments, academic institutions, and local and international organisations, to ensure effective delivery of services, which are supported by strong evidence.

Country and project background
Malaria Consortium began its activities in South Sudan in 2005 and has its main office in Juba and sub offices in Aweil, Northern Bar el Ghazel. The current projects include Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC), Health Sector Transformational Project, BHI Digitalization, Severe Malaria (Reduce morbidity and mortality from severe malaria) and Zero-Dose & Immunisation. We are also implementing research projects including Malaria Molecular Surveillance (MMS), Flood-Linked Locally led interventions and Outbreak Warning for Malaria (FLLOW-M) and Optimizing Malaria Surveillance.
SMC Withdrawal Harm Mitigation.
The SMC Withdrawal harm mitigation project aims to reduce excess malaria-related mortality among children under five in Aweil South and Aweil West following the withdrawal of SMC. It focuses on understanding the impact of SMC withdrawal while implementing practical measures to protect vulnerable children during the transition period. Through strengthened routine health data, surveillance systems, and modelling, the project will generate evidence on changes in key malaria indicators and support informed decision-making.

Qualifications and experience:
Essential
-
Diploma or Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Computer Science or related field

Minimum 2 years of experience in M&E or data management in health programs

Familiarity with immunisation programs and community health systems

Experience with DHIS2 and data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, STATA)
Desirable

Experience working in South Sudan or similar post-conflict setting

Training in M&E or data quality assurance
