Programme Overview
In South Sudan SNV has been operating in the since 2005 in Eastern Equatoria State and has expanded its activities to date to Northern Bahr el Ghazal States, Warrap, Jongelei, Lakes, Central Equatoria.
Job purpose
To provide logistics and clerical services in an effective and efficient manner to facilitate in the conducive running of the operation systems of SNV in line with the policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee SNV Juba Office work and staff.
• Keep accurate stock-cards of goods transiting (in and out) of SNV Juba Base and inform management of necessary purchases, when stocks are low (especially fuel, lubricants and other consumables).
• Establish and update a database of store inventory and Asset register
• Make sure that all staff respects SNV procedure, for procurement and movements.
• Oversee stock cards, delivery note records and vehicle fuelling and maintenance
• Records, and any other logbook regarding the compound structures.
• Truck vehicle repairs and services and make requisitions where necessary.
• Assist in the preparation of delivery notes for any items to be sent from SNV stores to other field locations.
• Implement purchase orders according to SNV procedures.
• Collect quotations and guarantee the proper storage of all relevant documents to trace order history.
• Inform the supervisor of any necessary extraordinary maintenance works needed on the different SNV compounds.
• Be the first contact for Compound Workers for any issues related to the compound.
• In charge of the compound repairs and chancery issues.
• Maintain a flexible attitude towards teamwork and other assignments as dictated by circumstances/events or requested by Supervisors.
• Any other duty assigned by supervisor.
Candidate profile
Education
• Minimum of Diploma in Logistics and procurement or related field.
• Working experience of at least three (3) with an NGO in Logistics. And administration
• Driving skill is a MUST and with valid driving licence
• Knowledge of mechanic is added advantage
Skills
• Competent in use of Microsoft applications especially Excel and Word, internet,
Database management, and e-mail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good writing skills
• Accuracy
• Fluency in written and spoken English with Arabic as an added advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadline
• Ability to work independently
