Purpose
The Housekeeping Supervisor manages housekeeping activities for all ICRC premises, coordinating the work of the housekeepers, meeting them regularly and inspecting thoroughly the different sites. He/She has a good understanding of sanitation regulations and team management abilities. He / She is responsible for purchase orders and inventory keeping of the standard items. He must abide to the ICRC housing policy and the guidelines established with the standard equipment list. The employee is the link between the maids / cooks / helpers and the Premises department, reporting to the F&A Manager about accidents, malfunctioning, professional mistakes of housekeepers in a timely manner
Functional Responsibilities

Supervises the day to day housekeeping activities in all ICRC Premises

Conducts regular visits in offices and residences to ensure the prescribed standards or quality of cleanliness are met in offices and residences in ICRC Premises

Plans and schedule cleaning program and conduct regular trainings on hygiene guidelines for the housekeeping team to deliver quality services to the staff

Supports the Sub-delegations and offices in South Sudan with trainings for domestic staff.

Motivates the domestic staff team and empowers the Housekeeping Team Leaders

Investigates and addresses complaints regarding poor housekeeping services. Responds to complaints / requests from mobile staff independently and creates a good atmosphere in the delegation.

Recommends promotions, transfers, dismissals or Personal Improvement Plan for housekeeping staff if needed

Supervises the quality of the works at the cafeteria.

Responsible for the cafeteria results (cost efficiency, satisfaction of users & organization)

Manages the working advances given to the cooks.

Checks regularly the quality of the food, services and enviroment provided in the cafeteria.

Regularly checks the hygienic condition of the kitchen, food, fridge and dinning room.

Assists in planning and management of menus of cafeteria on regular bases.

Makes written reports and submit to Line Manager on the regular premises checks (cleaning checklist, standard items list reporting etc.)

Does the annual appraisals of the maids with support from the Housekeeping Team Leaders

Collects and fills out the form for daily workers (when needed), overtime, attendance etc.

Makes sure that an inventory for standard items is kept up to date

Update the cafeteria list up to date.

Keep the management file of the housekeeping team updated on a weekly basis to allow proper planning ahead for every week.

Organizes replacement of housekeeping staff as required in coordination with housekeeping Team Leader

Manages the ordering and replenishment of the cleaning materials/emergency/standard items stocks in a timely manner and ensures adequate supplies of cleaning materials

Ensures on housekeeping inventory, supplies and standard items are ordered, as well as being handled and maintained safely.

Proposes and implements guidelines to improve the quality of work by the housekeeping team.
Certification/ Experience required
- Secondary School or Equivalent (G.C.S.E or Standard Grade Exam) is an asset
▪ Vocational training in domestic work, housekeeping, cleaning or laundry desirable
▪ 1-3 years’ domestic work experience.
▪ Good Conversational in English and Arabic
▪ Beginner level in computer skills
• Good physical condition
• Knowledge of basic hygiene principles.
