World Vision is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Hygiene Coordinator, (Man or Woman) for its Securing Affected Families in Emergency (SAFE) Project, based in Malakal, Manyo, Fashoda & Panykang Counties, Greater Upper Nile, South Sudan

Purpose of the Position:

The overall purpose of this position is to coordinate Hygiene activities and enhance hygiene practices in Manyo, Fashoda, Panyikang and Malakal Counties in collaboration with WASH Project Officer in Upper Nile.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate community mobilization and sensitization of Hygiene activities in Manyo, Fashoda, Panyikang and Malakal Counties in collaboration with WV WASH Project officers in the project operation areas.
• Supervise and mentor Community Hygiene Promoters, ensuring they conduct quality hygiene promotion training, and interventions as outlined in the project proposal and with set budget.
• Conduct hygiene promotion using community participatory approaches such as PHAST, on the target community for the Project.
• Supervise and monitor the construction, use and cleanliness of latrines together with the hygiene promoters.
• Help in the formation and training of hygiene promotion committees on sensitization and mobilization of communities on promotion of sanitation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Minimum certificate in environmental health, or related to any health background, A diploma will be preferred.
• Good skills in use of computer software programs; particularly MS Word, MS EXCEL, email/internet communication, etc.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in environment health service, experience of working with international organization will be advantaged.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Oral and written Arabic will be added advantage.
• Experience and skills in community mobilization.
• Having demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
• Organized, efficient, and able to meet deadlines
• Strong in community mobilization skills and networking with partners, stakeholders.
• Ability to work under difficult circumstances in remote locations with limited supervision.

N.B: This position is open to South Sudanese Nationals Only.

N.B: The incumbent of this position will not be a Relocatable Staff.
