Dorcas is a Christian relief and development organization which operates from the Netherlands through different field offices within Eastern Europe and Africa. Dorcas accomplishes this by promoting self-reliance through Development, the provision of social care and assisting in emergency situations.
Dorcas is looking for an English-speaking employee for the position of Project Coordinator to be based in Wau (Western Bahr el Ghazal) with frequent travel to and prolonged stay at Aweil North (Northern Bahr el Ghazal). In this position the employee will be responsible for coordination, monitoring, execution and reporting of the South Sudan Joint Response phase III project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands that will start on 1 March 2017. The 10 month project aims at improving the Food Security and Livelihoods and WASH situation in Wau and Aweil North. The Project Coordinator is accountable to the Program Manager/Country Director.
Key roles and responsibilities
• Project implementation
o Implement project according to the project documents;
o Ensure that the project is implemented according to the set budget.
• Project monitoring
o Signal issues that need improvement and take action accordingly;
o Maintain all project data and make available all project information to present the reports to the donor, possibly with the assistance M&E-officer.
• Reporting
o Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities and expenses in line with donor requirements, and delivery of information as requested;
o Submission of quality written and verbal reports to the line manager on a regular basis.
• Communication and coordination
o Develop and maintain transparent and honest communication and relationships with local authorities, civil society organizations and (I)NGOs, especially other SSJR3 partners;
o Participate in selecting project staff and build team spirit among them;
o Close coordination and frequent communication with the Project Manager/Country Director.
o Maintain good (working) relationships with colleagues
• Perform any other duty as required and requested
Required knowledge and experience
• Minimum BSc level qualification, preferably in community development/development studies/management/business administration or any related field.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification professional experience in a relevant field, preferably Food Security & Livelihoods and/or WASH.
• Project management skills, including minimum 2 years management experience.
• Experience with implementation of MoFA NL funded projects is an advantage.
• Work experience (especially in management functions) in South Sudan is an advantage.
Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of English, spoken and written. Working knowledge of Arabic and Dinka are advantages;
