World Vision is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Nutrition Project Manager (Man or Woman) in its Office, based in Aweil North, Greater Barh El Gazal Zone.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To provide overall technical leadership and management support to the Nutrition projects in NBG to ensure that project meets their goals and objectives, with significant impact on target communities. Directly Manage World Vision Hong Kong project and the Unicef PCA prepare and constantly update project Detailed Implementation and M&E plans. Effectively represent WVSS in technical forums in NBG and report back to the Zonal Manager and Health/Nutrition Sector Advisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Program Management of Nutrition project and constantly provide an overview of the situation on the ground in order to estimate the immediate needs of the population within NBG
• Ensure that the Nutrition projects are implemented according to Government of South Sudan guidelines and protocols schedule and budgets, international standards, and program objectives; Coordinate and prepare and manage a work plan to ensure that all project locations and objectives are well covered
• Track project budgets and implementation plans to ensure that activities are implemented within planes schedules and within specified budgets to avoid over or under expenditures
• Collaborate with other health/nutrition providing partners in NBG to facilitate easy referral of SAM cases with medical complication for inpatient management. Promote linkage of beneficiaries discharged from any partners’ Stabilization Centers (SC) back to OTP programs.
• Build capacities of project staff to ensure that implementation of OTP, SFP and Community mobilization including screening of 6-59 months old and PLWs referrals of malnourished children and health messaging during distributions.
• Update the CMAM database on a weekly basis and work with M&E team to regularly update project indicator tracking tables
• Participate in community-based health education, including training on preventative health care by training and supporting program staff on basic health topics and building the capacity of program staff to educate caregivers.
• Mentor project staff in work plan development and reporting to ensure accurate monitoring photography, and documentation of activities; Ensure project staff understand and follows WVSS and donor Policies and Procedures;
• Ensure establishment of community nutrition volunteers and mother to mother support groups for promotion of IYCF key messages among the child caregivers.
• Prepare high quality narrative and statistical internal as well as Nutrition Cluster Information System (NIS) reports by 5 of the following month using WVSS and donor formats, as required
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders, including community leaders, NGOs, UN agencies, community-based organisations in project locations to enhance cooperation and coordination;
• Maintain adequate supply chains for Nutrition supplies and medicines. Coordinate with the responsible authorities get SC and OTP supplies from UNICEF, GIK, and or SC to Project locations
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition with at least 3 years- hands on experience in Managing Emergency Nutrition programs in conflict settings
• Post graduate training in Project Planning and Management Public Health or Monitoring & Evaluation is a requirement
• Professional technical experience, including 2 years implementing nutrition programs in South Sudan is an added advantage.
• Prior training and experience in CMAM , IYCF a must; proficiency with SMART
• Demonstrated experience in project management, capacity building, project design and budget management
• Strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and written skills, and good computer skills
• Fluency in English required; Arabic is an added advantage
• Additional qualities: ability to multi-task, ability to handle pressure well, ability to improvise, flexibility, adaptability to transition.
