CMMB South Sudan is seeking qualified and suitable candidates for the following position:
JOB TITLE: Driver
LOCATION Juba
REPORTING TO Administration & Logistics Officer
Closing Date: 25th March 2016
Job Purpose:
The driver will be tasked with facilitating and coordinating smooth transportation of all staffs and goods in and around Juba including proper maintenance of the assigned vehicle in accordance to CMMB South Sudan policies and South Sudan traffic laws.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive motor vehicle to transport passengers and cargo to designated locations.
• Undertake routine and preventive maintenance of motor vehicle by checking and topping-up the level of petrol, oil, water, battery electrodes and tyre pressure before operating the vehicle.
• Regularly clean and polish the vehicle, change Tyres as well as make minor repairs or adjustments.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks such as collecting and delivering mail and other items as well as buying goods, supplies and consumer items.
• Load and offload baggage, goods and other material supplies with due regard to the safety of other people.
• Observe traffic and safety precautions, motor vehicle accident and traffic violations. In addition, undertakes first aid in case of accidents
• Requisitioning for petrol, lubricants and spare parts from CMMB accredited vendor/ supplier and maintaining a record accounting for the same.
• Maintain records of motor vehicle’s daily activity showing journey, mileage, consumables and signature of authorizing officer.
• Assist in loading of CMMB-SS cargo to be transported.
• Assume other relevant responsibilities as instructed by the supervisor.
Qualification/Requirements:
• Must be a South Sudanese
• Must have completed secondary school education
• Must have a valid driving permit wit clean record in driving, mechanical experience/training is a plus
• Must be able to speak and write English with spoken Arabic and knowledge of communication systems HF/VHF radios will be an added advantage
• Must have driven 4x4 vehicle with at least 2/3 years of experience preferably with NGOs
• Good health with sharp reflexes and good eye sight
• Good knowledge of road signs
• Good knowledge of Juba and its environs.
