Indepth Research Services would also like to invite you to take part in our upcoming training courses on GIS, Remote Sensing and CAD scheduled for 2019 and 2020.

Indepth Research Services offers a wide range of GIS and remote sensing training covering topics related to Geospatial technology, survey, engineering, and mapping. We have a variety of GIS courses in Kenya , browse through our website for different Geographic Information System courses and how they can be applied in different sectors.

GIS is a computer-based tool for mapping and analysing feature events on earth. Remote Sensing , on the other hand, is the art and science of making measurements of the earth using sensors on airplanes or satellites. CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is a system of hardware and software used by users to create or design objects. The Remote Sensing and GIS course are customized to deliver quality learning through instructor-led training workshops.

ArcGIS for Desktop Level 1 course

ArcGIS is a geographic information system (GIS) for working with maps and geographic information. It is used for creating and using maps, compiling geographical data, analyzing mapped information, sharing it in a range of applications, and managing it in a database.

This training introduces participant(s) to both the social and technical aspects of digital mapping. Participant(s) will learn fundamental concepts and techniques in cartography and GIS, including file types, data classification, projections and coordinate systems and elementary analytical techniques in a range of desktop and web-based mapping platforms. In addition to providing the fundamental technical competencies necessary to create maps, participants will develop the critical awareness required to effectively communicate complex social processes through maps.

Web-based GIS and Mapping Course

Web mapping focuses on disseminating and processing geographic information by means of Internet and World Wide Web. Combination of the web and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) has unlocked the potential of GIS, and put online maps and geospatial intelligence in the offices/homes of millions and the hands of billions. The increasing flexibility and interoperability of web mapping technologies has opened new opportunities for Web-Based Mappers.

Both non-GIS users and GIS experts can do more now, than ever to share maps over the internet. Web maps can easily deliver up to date information, maps are generated automatically from databases, and they can display information in almost real-time. They don’t need to be printed, mastered and distributed. Web GIS has immense applicability to e-government, e-business, e-science, and all aspects of daily life. Government employees can utilize Web GIS to improve public service delivery and boost collaboration across agencies. Regardless of the sector, businesses can use Web GIS to enhance their existing business models and create new ones. Researchers can find new solutions to meet the challenges of the new frontiers. Web GIS has great practical value to our world today and into the future.

GIS in Energy Course

GIS is a computer-based tool for the storage, manipulation, and analysis of geographically referenced information. It is a system of hardware and software used for performing multiple functions related to geographic data. Providing energy sector organizations with access to complete information significantly reduces project delays, administrative costs, cost of compliance, and ensures that project management is conducted more effectively.

It is for this reason, that we present you this training on GIS and remote sensing for energy to equip the professionals involved in the energy sector with skills that will aid proper management of the energy resources.

GIS and Remote Sensing for Agricultural Resource Management Course

For optimum utilization of available agricultural land resources on a sustainable basis, timely and reliable information regarding their nature, extent and spatial distribution along with their potential and limitations is very important.

The efficiency and accuracy of data are improved when remote sensing data and GIS are used. Spatial tools such as the Global Positioning System (GPS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) for storing and analyzing spatial data can help us make better decisions in agriculture, land development, environmental protection, and restoration. Specifically, this decision-making tools can be used in the context of agriculture in the assessment of crop area extent, management of water resources, identification of pest attacks and diseases, yield assessment studies, land suitability assessment for agriculture disaster management and precision agriculture.

Participants will apply their new skills to one of several case studies in topics on agriculture, pest management, crop monitoring, water resource management, and risk assessment among others. This course will offer a mixture of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises using open source GIS and RS software

GIS and Remote Sensing, Analysis, Mapping and Visualization with QGIS Course

With information society, creation, distribution, integration, and manipulation of information has become a significant economic, political, and cultural activity. It’s a known fact that information is processed from facts and figures; we also agree that if data is not well managed it can be overwhelming. Giving a spatial dimension to data and performing spatial analysis in a GIS environment speeds interpretation visualization which eventually speeds up the implementation of programs.

To make timely decisions requires not only innovative ways to access accurate and real-time information but also tools to help present the information in ways that are useful. Integrating GIS and Remote Sensing as a decision-making tool has seen many organizations gain competitive advantage and remain relevant globally.

This training workshop is aimed at helping our clients understand how well they can apply GIS and RS in their day to day running of their organization. The course will be offered in a mixture of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises in Quantum GIS (QGIS).
