OVCI la Nostra Famiglia is looking for an Inclusive Education Worker.

The main task of the Inclusive Education Worker will be:

  • Support the project coordinator and the team in assessing the students, in order to identify education, social and health needs and develop an action plan for each student.
  • Weekly follow-up on the students assigned and coordinate with the team for referring the children to the adequate health, rehabilitation and social service provided by OVCI; conduct home-visits for the students, with autonomy and in team;
  • Train the caregivers and the pupils with disabilities in home-based academic approach, home education support for the children.
  • Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, visit and build a reliable relationship with the schools assigned by the management, coordinate with the teachers, the PTA and the parents of the pupils with disabilities. Support the implementation of the project activities in the schools, as teachers training, awareness, education support and inclusive tools application, etc.;
  • Participate in staff trainings and learn the principles and application of Community- based Inclusive Development Approach and its application. Learn and apply the referral system internal to Usratuna OVCI services (Health, Rehabilitation, Nutrition, etc.)
  • Fulfil in a timely and qualitative manner all the data collection form and participate in coordination meeting. Track and report the progress of the targeted beneficiaries and the activities implemented.
  • Work in respect of the UN Convention for Rights of People with Disability, ensuring equity and non-discrimination and properly representing OVCI in the schools and area target.
  • Any other duty assigned by the management.

Candidate profile:

  • Certificated qualifications in education and/or teaching for primary and secondary schools (copy of original qualification) or equivalent professional experience;
  • At least 1 years of previous demonstrated experience in the role;
  • South Sudanese nationality
  • Birth certificate copy
  • Recommendation letter from previous employer
  • Precise and active worker, able to follow given disposition;
  • Timely and motivated worker;
  • Skills in using Microsoft Office tools preferred but not mandatory;
  • Demonstrated capacity to successfully work in team;
