IMA World Health: ToR for ASSESSMENT ON EmONC SERVICES AND RMNCAH EDUCATION IN BOR

The IMA World Health implemented ‘Support of Provision of Reproductive Health and Gender-Based Services in Bor State Hospital and Mingkaman Protection of Civilians Sites’ project funded by UNFPA began in 2019. The year 2021 was envisaged to be the last year of the GoSS/UNFPA country program. However, the country program was extended to 2022, in alignment with the United Nations Cooperation Framework that was extended to enable alignment of the new United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework with the new National Development Strategy. This realignment has been beneficial in ensuring continuity of services to girls and women who have used the reproductive health (RH) clinics and one stop center (OSC), putting them at a reduced risk of experiencing Gender Based Violence (as per recorded success stories).

This project aims to increase the realization of the health and rights of women and girls in South Sudan by increasing the availability of skilled health care providers, positively changing attitudes toward SRHR and combating GBV, community engagement for positive gender norms and supporting the government to develop and implement related policies and legislative frameworks. It will build on the successes of, and lessons learned, from Canada’s previous support to UNFPA through the six-year Strengthening Midwifery Services in South Sudan Phase 2 project and two previous projects targeting midwifery education and deploying midwives across the country.
The main purpose of the comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and New-Born Care (EmONC) Needs Assessment is to provide a clear picture concerning EmONC in maternity facilities, while focusing specifically on:
