HR/Administration Manager (1) for DanChurchAid’s South Sudan Office

DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for an experienced HR and Administration Manager. The position is a one-year position with the possibility of extension based on performance and donor funding. Duty station will be Juba with frequent travels to field locations.

DCA is working with local partners in South Sudan to assist the poorest of the poor with a focus on protection, combating hunger, working for peace and conflict mitigation and the safe removal of explosive remnants of war (EWR).

The HR and Admin Manager will report directly to Country Director and will be a member of the SMT for South Sudan Country office. S/he will be responsible for managing all HR/Admin functions by providing an overall guidance in activities in the areas of Human Resources and Administration with the aim of ensuring high quality performance and efficient procedures at the SSudan Country office. Main areas of responsibility are staff welfare, the expat/national staffs handbook policy development and implementation in line with organizational vision, mission, and strategic objectives. Contributing to risk management by advising SMT members/HoUs on the interpretation/application of HR policies and procedures and ensuring Country Program employment and human resource management practices meet agency and donor standards and follow local labour law. Oversee timely renewal of expats work-permits, visas, alien registrations, DCA registrations etc.

We are looking for a colleague with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of proven hands-on demonstrated experience as Human Resources/Administration Manager with at least 3 year as a member of the SMT.

  • Minimum of Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources Management/Public Administration and other related field, Masters’ degree is a must.

  • Proven leadership and excellent people’s management skills

  • Experience in developing HR/Admin policies and implementation

  • A candidate with hands on experience in compensation and benefits management.

  • Strong communications, interpersonal, organisation, and listening skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Arabic as advantage
