ABOUT THE TRAINING
Effective financial management is crucial for nonprofit organizations to achieve their mission, maintain sustainability, and build donor trust through transparency and compliance. It enables strategic resource allocation, ensures long-term stability, attracts funding, and upholds legal and ethical obligations, preventing mismanagement and fraud. Ultimately, sound financial practices maximize the impact of donations, allow for future growth, and are essential for fulfilling the organization’s core purpose.
As we have seen, the main purpose of financial management is to ensure financial resources are used effectively to fulfill an organization’s objectives. To make this happen, we need to establish robust systems to ensure financial control over project resources. FINANCIAL CONTROL happens when the organization’s financial resources are used correctly and effectively, as intended. Strong and relevant financial policies and procedures must be in place to ensure financial control.
OBJECTIVE OF THE TRAINING
The primary objectives of this financial management training are to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure organizational financial sustainability, achieve the mission effectively, maintain stakeholder trust through transparency and accountability, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and optimize the use of financial resources through sound planning, budgeting, and control. The training helps equip staff with the skills to manage funds, report accurately, and build the financial health necessary to fulfill the organization’s purpose.

To determine who may attend the training, we first need to consider the question, “Who is responsible for effective financial management in a nonprofit organization?”
The short answer is everyone at your organization!
