POSITION TITLE: Driver - 01 Position.
POSITION LOCATION: Juba, South Sudan, with frequent travel to project field sites
REPORTS TO: Operations, Logistics and Security officer
CONTRACT TERM: 12 months, with possibility of extension based on performance APPLICATION DEADLINE: 10th September, 2025

BACKGROUND

World University Service of Canada (WUSC) is a Canadian global development organization working to catalyze positive education and economic outcomes for young people. We bring together and collaborate with diverse partners (including Students, Schools, Volunteers, government, not-for-profit and business) who share this mission. Together, we influence system change and foster inclusive , young centered solutions that enable youth people to thrive and belong. WUSC currently operates in 28 Countries across Africa, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Caribbean, as well as Canada.

WUSC in South Sudan is implementing the Strengthening Collaborative Action and Learning for Education (SCALE) which is a five-year project (2025-2030) funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC). SCALE project is a 5-year initiative designed to enhance the empowerment of adolescent girls and female youth pursuing educational pathways in selected border zones of South Sudan with high numbers of spontaneous returnees in Yei River, Kajo Keji and Magwi counties, supporting key actors in the education ecosystem to test, adapt, expand, and sustain innovative models and practical approaches that reduce barriers to equitable access to and improve the provision of safe, quality, and gender-transformative learning opportunities for girls and other vulnerable groups.

In its approach, WUSC will use a system strengthening approach which includes localization; capacity strengthening; innovation; a strong learning agenda; support for collective, collaborative, and complementary action; and focused implementation in geographies where solutions can also be tested for their broader relevance and impact. The project will work with local implementing partners, women rights organizations, training institutions and state actors, as well as international development actors to create an enabling environment for girls’ education.

Purpose of the Assignment

To support the implementation of the SCALE Project, WUSC is seeking to recruit 01 qualified Driver to be based in Juba, with frequent movement to project sites as required.

The Driver will provide reliable and safe transportation services for project staff, visitors, and goods. They will ensure proper maintenance of assigned vehicles, adhere to safety protocols, and support logistical operations in line with WUSC’s standards and project objectives.
