. We are looking for qualified National applicants to be contracted for 12 months to work in the UniPod in Juba.
UniPod is a physical space and creative culture in which would-be innovators from within University’s students and faculty populations across all disciplines as well as community outside the University can collaborate and work together to explore their own innate design talent to find solutions to their problems irrespective of their academic backgrounds.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will collaborate with the UniPod Director, University faculty to ensure that they fully understand and utilize the potential of the University Pod and how it can it set up to build innovative products spurning from faculty and students.
Duties include:
Supports the variety of community programs that happen in UniPod, in all the six programs.
Manage the overall facilities of UniPod.
Understand the UniPod wider goals and mission and seek out ways to leverage the tools of the UniPod to accomplish them
Support individual student projects and develop an approach to increase student understanding of the UniPod potential
Model best practices in innovative and collaborative use of the UniPod.
Prepare reports as required by the Director.
Ensure smooth running of the programs within the required timelines.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in any Engineering courses
Certificate in computer at Diploma level, or demonstrable progamming skills
3-years professional experience in a busy workshop environment
Minimum 3 years professional experience with ECAD/CAD/CAM software
Minimum 2 years of providing workshop/people supervision
Strong aptitude for hands-on fabrication; must be a quick learner
Solid computer skills, capable of learning CAD, CAM, and ECAD software
Team player with a positive attitude
Strong interpersonal skills and a proven passion for product design, prototyping, and development
Willingness to tackle all challenges; must be a highly creative thinker
Fluency in spoken and written English
