About ASPM.
The Africa School of Project Management (ASPM) was established in the year 2000 in Kenya as a membership based professional management organisation. The school was formed to address capacity building needs among development partners, donor organizations, Government agencies, International and private sector firms in Africa.
The school has been pivotal in capacity building in South Sudan, South Africa, Botswana, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Congo, Somalia, Liberia,The Gambia, Tanzania, Pakistan, Burundi and Rwanda. The school has trained over 12,000 staffs who are involved in different projects and also conducted surveys, evaluations and research in different projects and businesses in Africa.

Course Preamble

This course is designed to enable delegates understand the role of strategic management towards the achievement of sustainable competitive advantage in the context of increasing uncertainty in local and global business environment. It focuses on the strategic challenges and their management in a 21st century context - in particular the impact of the changing global, technological and knowledge based economy on how organizations grow and sustain growth.

Corporate governance component of this programme deals with the complex set of relationships between the corporation and its board of directors, management, shareholders, and other stakeholders. In the recent years, the regulators and legislators have intensified their focus on how businesses are being run.

Delegates will benefit from broad array of concepts relating to Strategic Management and Corporate Governance as well as key issues relating to Leadership, Change Management, Performance Management and Organizational Development, which puts across a comprehensive body of knowledge - a critical success factor - for today’s managers.
