Communications and Database Manager - Chemonics International

Chemonics International Inc. , a leading international development organization based in Washington, D.C., seeks a Communications and Database Manager based in Juba, South Sudan, for the $60-75 million USAID funded South Sudan Promoting Civic Engagement and Peace activity (PCEP). This potential five-year activity will promote stability, local solutions, and citizen participation to mitigate conflict, advance reconciliation efforts, increase access to information, and empower civil society. The goals of the program will be to: (1) empower local actors to build cross-line interdependence and intra-community cohesion to promote peace processes and peaceful co-existence; (2) support civil society and others to more broadly and inclusively engage on issues related to good governance, reform, accountability, dialogue and local, regional or national-level peace; (3) enable key partners to provide trauma awareness and healing services; (4) support media outlets to provide accurate and fair information, combating the influence of misinformation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify channels for communicating key messages to beneficiary communities, project partners, the client, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Draft project communication plans, strategies, and materials
  • Ensure consistency of project communications and implementation of the communications plan
  • Build stakeholder communications capacity
  • Ensure project compliance with USAID communications and branding requirements
  • Maintain the project’s activities database

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, international development, conflict/peacebuilding or related field required

  • 2-3 years of experience developing communications materials in conflict-affected environments

  • Experience working with subcontractors, grantees, and partners in communication and outreach matters

  • Strong writing skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven leadership, versatility, and integrity

  • Fluency in written and oral English required
