World Vision is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Assistant Food Security & Livelihood Officer, (Man or Woman) for its Securing Affected Families in Emergency (SAFE) Project, based in Malakal, Manyo, Fashoda & Panykang Counties, Greater Upper Nile, South Sudan.

Purpose of the Position:
To plan, implement, monitor and document all the Agricultural extension activities within the area of operation as per the proposal. Provide necessary agricultural related training, follow-up, monitoring, technical support and guidance to farmers in the Project (SAFE).

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Train the selected groups and community members on the various recommended practices for improved agronomic practice
• Organize Farmer Field days on suitable farms where other farmers can learn from;
• Develop a Demonstration Farms
• Coordinate all Agriculture extension activities within the Project area as may be required by the Project Manager or designee;
• Execute activities as per the Project Detailed Implementation Plan timely and responsibly
• Attend and organize agriculture related stakeholders forums and meetings
• Take good care of the organization’s asset/equipment under your custody at any given time e.g. motorbikes, computers;
• Attend and participate in the devotional meetings
Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager or designee;
 Compile the necessary Periodic:, weekly, monthly, quarterly and Donor reports for forwarding to the Project Manager;
 Attend the regular weekly and monthly meetings

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
 Degree from a recognized University of Agriculture with at least three years’ experience as an Agricultural Extension staff.
 Experience working with NGOs and Knowledge of the local language will be an added advantage.
 Has the ability and willingness to work with different communities. Should be self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
 Must have a good understanding of the different systems of extension delivery
 A good communicator who is willing and able to work as an active member of the team.

N.B: This position is open to South Sudanese Nationals Only.

N.B: The incumbent of this position will not be a Relocatable Staff.
