About Us:

Africa Centre for Project Knowledge & Techniques (ACPKT) is a Training Centre, Knowledge Hub and Techniques Resource Portal in Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation and Proposal Writing and other diverse areas for individuals and organization in development and humanitarian sectors in pursuit for excellence and success in all kinds of projects endeavors. The Training Institute runs training programs in Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo, Nigeria, Gambia, Sierra Leone and trains over 6000 development and humanitarian professionals in the last 15 years.

About the Training Course:

Today’s donors’ projects are increasingly complex and implemented under tight time-frames and budget constraints. The training has been designed with a holistic capacity building approach to empower course participants to achieve competency in Project Planning & Management, Monitoring & Evaluation and Microsoft Project knowledge and skills that are critical in managing donor projects in development and humanitarian sectors. This will allow them to apply knowledge and skills in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Microsoft Project to meet donor project requirements, conditions and changes.

Training Course Objectives:

  1. To review the key principles, techniques and tools for project management in donor projects.

  2. To review the key concepts, approaches and techniques in the monitoring and evaluation of donors’ projects.

  3. To review the development of a work plan, tracking and reporting on a donor project using Microsoft Project.

  4. To apply knowledge and skills gained in the course in a practical case study in Microsoft Project Software.

Training Methodology:

The training methodology will be a combination of lectures, didactic exercise, videos, role plays, group discussions and question and answer approaches.
