World Vision is looking for qualified candidate (Man or Woman) to fill the position Certified Nurse for Health Pooled Fund – Twic Program

Job Title: Certified Nurse
Reports to: Clinical Officer

Duty Station: Twic Health Facilities (Mayen Abun PHCC)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carries out all the Nursing functions and procedures.
    • Triage of the patients and take all the vital signs and record it on the patients’ treatment sheet as well as in the patients’ register book.
    • Ensures OPD patients flow and privacy is obtained.
    • Ensures registers availability and filled correctly.
    • Ensures clean working environment.
    • Ensure all dressings are done and are registered accordingly.

  2. Administrations of the prescribed drugs.
    • Administers the right drugs to the right patient at the right time, route, and doses and for the correct diagnosis.
    • Recording of all the prescribed drugs receiving correctly.
    • Cross checks the prescriptions made by the clinical officer for the expired date, correct dosages for the right age and weight for patients as recorded in the dispensing register.

  3. Adherence to and maintenance of infection prevention control standards.
    • Ensures availability of the infection prevention control facilities at the health facility.
    • Maintained sterilization of the equipment such as the dressing materials and tools, minor surgery and laboratory equipment.
    • Ensured availability of drums for sterilized equipment and materials.
    • Ensured availability of equipment and supplies.
    • Enforces implementation of infection prevention control in the health facility.

  4. In collaboration with the clinical officer in charge, organize and arrange referrals of complicated cases to the next level health facility for further management.
    • Number of the referrals made to the next level documented on the referral register.

  5. Ensures monthly submission of the morbidity reports accurately to the County health department and to the CIP
    • HFs staffs attend their duties at exactly time from 8:00 am and leave end at 5:00 pm
    • Ensures delivery of quality basic health care services to the local populations.
    • Effective and timely consistent submission of reports by health staffs concerned with report preparation.
    • Timely submission of the MMR on 5th of every month as evidenced by a copy on the CHD file box.
    • Nurse In charge prepares monthly report and submits it by 5th every month.

• Conduct on-job coaching/training or mentorship to other lower cadres in the health facility.
• Evidenced by the records of the health facilities mentored staffs on the health facility file box.

• Ensures routine health education sessions on daily basis and develop health education talk’s roster.
• Duty roster displayed on the wall.
• Records of the patients who attended the health education talks on the file box.

Key Qualifications and Competencies:

• Spoken and written English and (spoken Dinka an added advantage)
• Diploma/Certificate in certified Nursing
• Mature adult with good leadership skills;
• Organized and enthusiastic;
• Must be ready to work under minimal supervision.

• This position is open to South Sudanese Nationals only.
• The incumbent of this position will not be a relocatable staff.
• The gross salary for this position is : 329 USD
