World Vision is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Finance Officer, (Man or Woman) for its UNICEF Education Project, based in Malakal, South Sudan.
The incumbent of this role will be based in Malakal but will cover Wau Shilluk and Kodok.
Purpose of the Position:
To provide financial and administrative support for the Upper Nile Program as well as play a key role in establishment of appropriate accounting system incorporating necessary internal control.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Timely funding requests, and cash accountability reports and custody of cash as per the program needs and grants requirements;
- Proper documentation, filling, referencing and review employee expenses reports and journalizing expenditures;
- Ensure project data is posted into the Sun system on a weekly basis;;
- Facilitate External and internal Audits and implementation of audit recommendations
- Update and reconcile advances, loans to staff, prepayments, receivables, payables and the flow through account for the response;
- Make payments for supplies and services on all project fields expenses;
- Prepare monthly cash flow for funding requests to National Office;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Minimum Qualification required: Degree/ Diploma in Accounting or related fields
• Experience: 2- 3 years with International NGO;
• Technical Skills & Abilities:
o Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word & Sun-systems software.
o Good planning and organizational skills
o Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff-related to work environment needs
o Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff.
N.B: This position is open to South Sudanese Nationals Only.
N.B: The incumbent of this position will be a Relocatable Staff.
