JOB VACANCY: Project Manager – WFP Project
AVSI Foundation is a global non-governmental organization with headquarters in Italy. AVSI is operating in South Sudan since 2005, implementing medium to long-term sustainable health, education, water & sanitation, food security and emergency relief programmes.

The organisation is now seeking to recruit suitable qualified South Sudanese national only for the position of Project Manager for WFP project

Duty Station: Torit with frequent travels to Ikwotos County
Report to: Area Team Leader

Role
The Project Manager oversees the implementation of AVSI FFE and GFD program funded by WFP in Ikwotos and Torit Counties, EES. The programs are designed to provide food commodities to schools, health facilities and hospital in the target area.

• Oversee the implementation of AVSI’s WFP funded project (FFE, IFP and TSPF) ensuring activities is completed on time.
• Ensure that activities are implemented within their set timeframes to ensure beneficiaries receive assistance, according to the planned schedule;
• Ensure that all activities are coordinated with relevant Government authorities that they closely engage with all the organization activities in the health, nutrition and education sectors and are managed in line with AVSI procedures;
• Regularly liaise with Torit WFP Sub Office;
• Establish and maintain a project monitoring system which collects all data required for program management and donor reporting;
• Manage the program budgets and ensure that spending occurs as per the spending plan. Raise any concerns about projected under and over-spends to the Area Team Leader.
• Ensure submission of timely and high-quality reports to the WFP Sub Office;
• Provide overall supervision and clear and consistent direction to Project team members;
• Ensure the project staffs have the necessary skills to fulfill their roles. Identify training needs and work with the Area Team Leader in delivering these.
• Ensure that AVSI’s FFE and GFD programs are designed and implemented in coherence with relevant government strategies;
Job Requirements
• Relevant higher education qualification (possibly bachelor degree)
• Experience in program management in the health or education sectors
• Extensive experience in implementing programs related to community development
• Experience in managing the collection and analysis of data
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills
• Demonstrable strong leadership skills, ability to work in a complex team work environment, set appropriate priorities and deal effectively with numerous simultaneous requirements.
• Good English language skills
• Should be able to travel to the project sites
