World Vision is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of 2 Project County Coordinators (Man or Woman) for its Health Pooled Fund II Grant in Tambura and Nagero Counties

Purpose of the position:

The County Coordinator would provide leadership in an integrated manner at the County of Operation. The implementation of this project will revolve around support to health facilities, communities and, coordination with the County Health Department and the State Ministry of Health. This position entails planning, support and management of the program so that activities are completed and primary health services are effectively provided at county level.

Major Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on delivering the key components of the Basic package of health and nutrition services in county of operation.
• Coordinate with program, finance and administration staff to ensure operational systems are in place to support field activities. Ensure that day-to-day administrative support for the project in county of operation is in place.
• Develop the capacity of the County Health Department to plan, monitor and coordinate service delivery. Train and Mentor project CHD on effective project planning and management methodologies and quality health service delivery.
• Ensure accurate quality narrative and financial reports are submitted in a timely manner and according to donor requirements.
• Track the performance of the project activities and outputs against expected results and adjust implementation processes to ensure the project is progressing towards the intended outcomes. Including use of WVSS LEAP standard design documents.
• Ensure HMIS is implemented at all levels of Health Services delivery. Especially ensuring health data from your county is submitted timely to the SMoH.
• Create an enabling environment for information sharing, partnerships and, cooperation between other health implementing partners, CBOs, Government structures and target communities when delivering project interventions.

• Ensuring appropriate WVSS structures, internal and external standards, staffing, resources and policies as well as all grant requirements are adhered to. Supervise and appraise staff.
• Work with the zonal programing team to develop and oversee the implementation of the project’s work plan, ensuring completion of project’s deliverables and other initiatives in the county of operation.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

• Diploma in Public Health, Clinical medicine or in health related discipline as a minimum. Medical degree with 3 years in management of health services will be considered as a surplus.
• Extensive relevant experience in supporting projects on Maternal, Newborn and Child health or in primary health care
• Extensive experience working and delivering results in fragile and conflict affected areas or worked in similar environment in South Sudan.
• Relevant professional experience in managing and implementing of similar related program in South Sudan (assessment, proposal development, report writing and evaluation, etc).
• Experience in reviewing financial reports and providing explanations on expenditure variance as necessary
