Job Title: CLTS (Community Led Total Sanitation) Facilitators
Place of Work: At Payam level, Wau and Raga Counties, Western Bahr el Gazal State
Reports to: CLTS supervisor

Johanniter-International Assistance is an International Non-Governmental Organisation, dedicated to excellence in the field of first aid, ambulance service, social service programmes and other projects in the medical and social field. In South Sudan, Johanniter is operating health and nutrition programs in Western Equaorial and Western el Bahr Gazal States. For its WASH project in Wau and Raga Counties, Western Bahar el Gazal State, Johanniter is looking to hire 4 CLTS facilitators based in various Payams of Wau and Raga counties

Job Purpose

The CLTS (Community Led Total Sanitation) facilitator will be responsible for ensuring active community mobilization, triggering the community for behavioural change towards sanitation and ensuring the target community reaches attain Open Defecation Free Status.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop working plan and implement sanitation and hygiene promotion activities according to CLTS approach at community level
• Discuss with community representatives to undertake detailed analysis and design appropriate CLTS approach
• Lead the facilitation for CLTS triggering and all other process of CLTS in targeted villages
• Mentor Public Health Staff, natural leaders, women and community facilitators on CLTS.
• Form a sanitation action group by drawing representatives from all the neighbourhoods of the village and link them to work with village WASH committee.
• Identify gaps and facilitate with communities how to find solutions to address sanitation gaps through community action plans
• Provide technical support for constructing appropriate latrine by the community
• Visit and monitor the community and individual households on the progress towards CLTS
• Support the CLTS Supervisor in conducting the Open Defecation Free Celebration in villages declared ODF
• Prepare weekly and monthly report and submit on time
• Any other duty assigned by line managers

Essential Criteria:
• Certificate in education, social studies, nursing, community health worker or other related profession.
• High School completion certificate and experience on WASH or CLTS can also be considered
• Previous experience of doing community based activity or community mobilization
• Experience in implementing WASH or CLTS programmes will be n added advantage
• Very good public relations and communication skills
• Know the culture and language of the project areas in the resepective counties
