Dear colleagues,
Registration Announcement for Submission-INSO.pdf (337.8 KB)

As you may have heard, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) launched operations in South Sudan in early 2018 after obtaining registration late in the previous year. INSO South Sudan aims to provide free services and support to local and international NGOs in country to enhance the delivery of their services to those in need, and to preserve the safety of humanitarians. Specifically, INSO shall provide the NGO community with tailored safety support through three main services: Capacity Building (provision of training to humanitarian workers); Information and Advice (provision of regular context reports, risk assessments and tailored advice on humanitarian access); and Response (support during crisis and critical incident management).

As INSO is a partner-focused NGO, we require that organisations interested in accessing our services first register with us. This is to ensure that recipients of INSO’s services are NGOs and adhere to basic humanitarian principals and standards of conduct.
INSO’s criteria for consideration for registration are:

  1. Be registered in their home country as an NGO (or charity/non-profit humanitarian
    organization);
  2. Be registered in South Sudan as an NGO;
  3. Be operational in South Sudan;
  4. Observe the Red Cross, Red Crescent, and NGOs Code of Conduct for Humanitarian
    Assistance, and;
  5. Agree to abide by the INSO Code of Conduct (to access our Code of Conduct, please click go
    to the following link.

For those organizations that fit these criteria and are interested in INSO’s services, please email us at [email protected]. Follow up instructions will be provided later. Please ensure that expressions of interest come directly from country directors or the equivalent position in country. All information will be held in confidence and will not be shared with external parties.

As INSO continues to build its own understanding of the needs of the humanitarian community and its role in South Sudan, our services will be limited to trainings in the intermediate to near future. The first round of trainings will focus on first aid and will be offered in Juba at dates and times to be determined. Details for trainings will come in forthcoming announcements. Registration and all services offered by INSO, including trainings, are free of charge.
