INTRODUCTION
Psychosocial support is the process of enabling families to recover from the impact of crises and helping them to deal with such events in the future. The world faces increasing challenges such as disasters, terror attacks, epidemic diseases, conflicts and war. These are crises and events that leaves the communities in distress and emotional wounds. Basic aids such as food, water, shelter and healthcare are paramount but of importance also is psychosocial support.
This training course at IRES offers relevant skills and knowledge to people working in zones affected by such crises to offer psychosocial support and help the affected communities to heal the psychological wounds and rebuild social structure after such critical events.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is designed for anyone who would like to experience a community approach to inner healing. More so to health practitioners, humanitarian workers and project officers working in disaster and conflict prone areas

OBJECTIVES.
By the end of the training participants shall understand the social effects of disasters, war, terror attacks conflicts and other emergency events.
The course will also prepare participants to better understand the development and implementation of mental health and psychosocial interventions, and to assist the affected community in developing these sustainable interventions as well as cope with the emerging situations.
