World Vision South Sudan (WVSS) is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Anti-Retroviral Therapy Clinician for its UNHCR Refugee Project in Western Equatoria - Refugee Settlement based in Makpandu.

Purpose of the Position:

The overall purpose of this position is to have the Anti-Retroviral Therapy Clinician who will be based in Makpandu to see HIV patients and to administer requisite treatment to them; provide overall day-to-day management of PLWHIV; and to provide support to the target communities in addressing specific health activities meant to improve access to quality and equitable health services to the PHCC’s catchment area populations including supporting training/capacity building of PMTCT, Adherence counselling, VCT and HBC and PHCUs based staff and Community Resources persons, supervising and providing ongoing mentorship and support to the preventive and care services delivery persons.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible to see patients, assess and record complete health history under protocol
• Conducting and recording appropriate medical examinations as per the ART protocol
• Carry out Pre –ART assessment and ensure enrolment upon eligibility criteria and in liaison with HIV Prevention Officer Organize community meetings and campaign forums that promote participation of communities and involvement in effort to improve prevention and control of HIV&AIDS
• Carry out appropriate patient’s follow up and make referrals to the next level of care and participate in any Health program management meetings and HIV related trainings and technical forum at County Level and state level and all trainings related to testing and counselling on HIV as required.
• Administer requisite treatment and maintain up-to-date records of all transactions using provided registers and forms.
• Ensure all HIV positive cases enrolled in pre ART and ART registers are up-to-date.
• Provide relevant health instructions and appropriate information on Family Planning for women of child bearing age as necessary
• Provide clinical supervision and leadership in the implementation of care, treatment and support to PLWHA in the Project area as guided by the project objectives, logical framework and work plan; and guided by the South Sudan Health Policy, WVI and other international standards.
• Ensure Appointment show up rate of 70% and above make liaison with HIV Prevention Officer Schedule and facilitate trainings of health staff on HIVAIDs
• Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous quality improvement activities as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Undergraduate degree in Public Health, Nursing, Clinical Medicine or related field
• Certificate of good conduct from the CID department
• Trained with knowledge, skills and experience in HIV care, treatment and related programs
• General understanding of clinical management of HIVAIDs patients and health service delivery especially those related to women and children;
• At least 2 years’ experience working with community groups in the field
• Proven abilities in managing successful ART and Primary Health Care Programs in South Sudan;
• Energetic and self-motivated, with skills in community mobilization, training, and team-building;

N.B: This position is open to South Sudanese Nationals Only.

N.B: The incumbent of this position will be a Relocatable Staff.
