World Vision South Sudan (WVSS) is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Infrastructures, Communications & Technology (ICT) Officer for its Office, based in Yambio, Western Equatoria.
Purpose of the Position:

Support and maintain the day-to-day operation of WV South Sudan’s field-based information and telecommunication systems, through the provision of client-oriented service.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deployment, maintenance and administration of field-based telecommunications systems and infrastructure (VSATs, Satellite phones, HF and VHF Radio equipment);
Enforcing telecommunications/security policies and standards in the field;
Establishing a consultative relationship with the Zonal Program Manager and County Team Leaders related to provision of ICT services, and ensuring provision of quality and timely ICT support services to field sites;
Receipt, configuration and housekeeping of field ICT equipment;
In liaison with the Regional Office:
a. Maintenance and repair of field-based IT equipment
b. Deployment of client applications to the field users
c. Maintenance of the IT assets database for the field sites

Provide technical advice to the Zonal Program Manager and to the ICT Manager in decision relating to the strategic use and implementation of internet work infrastructure for the field;
Make recommendations to the ICT Manager on the acquisition of new technologies for the field sites and the deployment of existing ones;
Providing monthly reports, outlining the achievements for the month (against the planned activities and further against the department’s annual operational plan).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
 A first degree in Telecommunications Engineering or Computer Science, or in any related field
 At least three year’s working experience in a networking/telecommunications environment
 At least one Professional Certification in the following: Microsoft Certified Professional; Cisco (CCNA)
 Good working knowledge of telecommunications technologies (satellite/VSAT technology, wireless networks, HF and VHF Radio, microwave) and Network Architectures for both Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks
 Excellent working knowledge of Internet technologies, including: TCP/IP suite of protocols; Internet security; Internet routing; Voice over Internet Protocol)
 Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems configuration and administration
 Good working knowledge of office automation applications (Microsoft Office) and Lotus Notes
 Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment
 Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
