General Objective | To determine appropriateness of Cash and Market based intervention in “Rumbek Center, Cueibet, Rumbek Eas” Counties of Lakes State, South Sudan |
Specific Objectives | To provide price and stock information baseline of relevant basic commodities in assessed markets |
To identify the constraints and capacity of vendors in supplying and price-setting basic commodities and services in assessed markets.
To gather feedback from affected communities on access to market and their familiarity, acceptance and preferences for cash-based modalities and mechanisms.
To identify the potential constraints and risks of cash-based response in the area.
And further:
Determine the changes in dietary diversity.
Identify the current food gaps (access and availability) and the cost to fill the food gap.
Identify what livelihood activities can be restarted now and in the next 2 months
Identify the village market’s capacity to restock and supply adequate food supplies to meet the demand stimulated by the cash transfer program.
To determine if the traditional money transfer system through local traders could be used to deliver a limited cash transfer programme to vulnerable households.|

|Qualifications|* Master’s degree in Economics, food security and livelihood, business administration or related field.
- Proven experience in conducting large scale market assessments for INGOs
- At least seven years of hands on experience in conducting Market assessments especially in emergency food security & livelihoods and cash intervention programming.
- Knowledge of the most critical assessment tools and frameworks in Market based cash programming
- Strong background in monitoring and evaluation techniques.
- Familiar with the Food Security & Livelihood context in South Sudan or similar contexts
- Experience in developing and implementing gender and protection sensitive assessment methodologies in cash based interventions.|
