Constructions: invitation for tender- construction of girl-friendly vip latrines and vip boys latrines in 5 primary schools in torit county

SNV-Netherlands Development Organization is an international development organization, dedicated to a society where all people enjoy the freedom to pursue their own sustainable development”. The organisation has a presence in 38 countries and works with 1300 organisations in the continents of Africa, Asia and Latin America as well as in Eastern Europe. SNV contributes to this by strengthening the capacity of local organizations such as national NGOs, government agencies and private sector organisations. Globally, SNV’s capacity development programs are in three sectors of Agriculture, Renewable Energy and WASH. Since 2005 SNV has been an active player in strengthening capacities of Local Governments and national NGO partners in the provision of basic services (equitable access to quality WASH and basic education), and stimulating production, incomes, and employment in the agriculture sector in South Sudan. Currently SNV operates in former Northern Bhar el Ghazal State (all 3 counties), and Eastern Equatoria State (6 counties), Lakes state, (5 counties) and Central Equatoria state, (2 counties).
In the WASH sector, SNV implemented/ is currently implementing UNICEF, DFID and EKN funded WASH projects since 2010 in former Eastern and Central Equatoria, NBEG, Warrap, and Jonglei states and currently expanded to former Lakes state. SNV works with and through the National, state and county relevant institutions and other National organisations as a way of improving their capacities to plan, implement and monitor projects that aims to contribute to the improvement of WASH in communities and schools.
In WASH in schools sub program, SNV particularly focuses on child friendly schools that include promoting school nutrition through school gardening, health clubs, and child to child education and gender mainstreaming in WASH and education,(child/ girl friendly school environment and advocacy for menstrual hygiene management) and Our projects also addresses governance issues including empowerment of communities, schools and school surrounding communities to plan, own, manage and use their facilities, including WASH facilities, in a sustainable and equitable manner, and support inter-sector coordination and collaboration for the implementation of projects.

On the 15th of June, 2016, SNV signed a four and half months MoU with NIRAS International consultancy Company of Denmark to implement the school hygiene and sanitation component of the EKN funded PROWAS/SSN-EES (WATER FOR EASTERN EQUATORIA STATE PROJECT). One of the projects component is to construct 10 school latrines, 5 for boys and 5 for girls in the 5 selected schools in Torit County.
